Common Myths
MYTH: "Yoga is only for young, flexible people.
FACT: They don't have to be the only ones having fun. Yoga maintains an honesty with the body-mind-spirit, which is open to all ages. I think it actually ‘reverses’ the aging process - without surgery! By systematic, safe practice of muscle conditioning and spinal flexibility, people tell me all the time they are doing things they have not done since childhood. Or in my case, ever!
MYTH: "I’m athletic and don't need yoga."
FACT: 'We've been doing yoga so I'll be straight,' Shaquille O'Neal told the LA Times in reference his ankle. Phil Jackson began practicing yoga while with New York Knicks in the 70s, and still includes it in team trainings. I'd say they're pretty athletic.
MYTH: "I've never done it before"
FACT: Just like any activity like golf or cooking, we learn about them by EXPERIENCING. Zhi Yoga provides different levels of yoga poses. No experience necessary, only fun ones are!
